Kreg Tools Deck Jig: The Deck Pocket Hole Jig System

When building a new deck or refinishing an old one, the Kreg Deck Jig will do the job right. It will help create a beautiful and working deck surface and be completely free of exposed fasteners and painful splinters. The Deck Jig’s specialized self-tapping screws are driven at a precise angle into the edge of the deck boards so they stay hidden from view. The Kreg screws stay protected safely below the surface where seasonal changes might force common fasteners out of place with time. In order to secure a deck board with the Kreg Deck Jig takes only 3 simple steps. First, drill the holes into the edge of your deck board using the specialized stepped bit, guided by the jig’s hardened steel drill guides. Next, drive the specialized self-tapping deck screws through the same drill guides and into the joist as the depth collar precisely controls the depth. That’s it! For the best results, it is recommended using composite deck boards which prevent shrinking/swelling/splitting. The Kreg Deck Jib works great with native softwoods such as Redwood and Cedar, along with certain Tropical Hardwoods like Ipe, Red Balau, and Ironwood. The Kreg Deck Screws were designed for use with the Kreg Deck Jig. These screws can also be used as simple face-screws for a variety of outdoor projects. All of the Kreg Deck screws feature a KTX #1 Square Drive to reduce cam-out with a flat-bottom head to resist splitting, and a self-tapping tip which drills its own hole as it’s driven. The deck screws are available in two weather resistant finishes; Protec-Kote and Stainless. The Protec-Kote screws feature three anti-corrosion layers to protect against rusting in a wide variety of decking applications. It is a good choice for a wide variety of decking applications, including ACQ treated lumber. For even more protection, choose Stainless. The Kreg Stainless screws provide the best protection against corrosion in the long-term.
