Great tool. Review by D.P.
This is one elegant tool. It really saved me a lot of time and money when I used it on a particular job where there was no electric available. This baby ripped through roofing 1x12's like a hot knife through butter. The design is well thought out and although some people do not like the safety button, I think it will probably save someone a huge hospital bill. My only suggestion to anyone contemplating buying this tool is to buy a Freud blade. The stock Makita blade is not bad, but when you put a Freud blade on this sucker, it really is silky smooth operation. I've tried other cordless circular saws, and wasn't impressed (most are quite a bit smaller), but this 6 1/2" blade is almost like using my corded 7 1/4" Hitachi that I have. I suspect that my old Hitachi will probably be having some loneliness issues now that I have this tool. There is a similar model which I believe is the BSS610 that is exactly the same tool, but it has a blade break and an led light. All in all I chose this one because those were features that I didn't need and there is quite a price difference. If you're on the fence about the power of a cordless circular saw, this one won't disappoint. Pros: Good Design, Durable, Safety Features, Quality Materials, Easy To Use Best Uses: Small Jobs, Outside, Inside I would describe myself as: 'Professional'(Posted on )
